But something to be disdained. And punished. Avoided, maybe, too.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Even from birth.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Voddie Baucham likes to say that babies are &#8220;vipers in diapers&#8221;.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And his audience laughs and applauds.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He speaks this way of Yahweh&#8217;s image-bearers!<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ones whom He made &#8220;a little lower than the angels&#8221; and then &#8220;crowned &#8230; with glory and honor&#8221;. (Psalm 8:5)<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Inspired by the Holy Spirit, King David reminded God&#8217;s people:<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;As a father has compassion on his children,<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">so the LORD has compassion on those who fear Him.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For He knows our frame;<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He is mindful that we are dust.&#8221; (Psalm 103:13-14)<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">God doesn&#8217;t see dirt when He looks at us.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He sees dust.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And that&#8217;s not to say He sees us as filthy and disposable.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It means He sees us as fragile and needing extra care.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Certain preachers (especially those of the Calvinist persuasion) paint humanity as dirt &#8211; foul and worthless.
