{"id":2140,"date":"2025-06-19T02:55:00","date_gmt":"2025-06-19T02:55:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stevegrossblog.com\/?p=2140"},"modified":"2026-10-02T01:31:19","modified_gmt":"2026-10-02T01:31:19","slug":"your-own-systematic","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stevegrossblog.com\/?p=2140","title":{"rendered":"YOUR OWN SYSTEMATIC"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Church would be much healthier if we ditched the system where each generation two or three persons develop a systematic theology to be shared with millions, in favor of &#8230;.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Millions of believers developing their own systematic theology and each sharing their ideas with two or three other believers.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Wouldn&#8217;t that be something?<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No longer would we blindly swallow what we&#8217;ve been taught by other well-meaning Christians &#8211; who have never questioned anything they themselves were taught.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a way, my unofficial theological project since stepping into the role of pastor has been to develop my own systematic understanding of what is taught in Scripture. I am making good progress but still far from being finished.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I don&#8217;t necessarily assume I will finish in my lifetime.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of my goals is to make sure there are no blatant contradictions in my faith.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And I think developing your own &#8220;systematic&#8221; theology would be an incredibly edifying process for any believer serious about his or her faith, not just pastors.\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Church would be much healthier if we ditched the system where each generation two or three persons develop a systematic theology to be shared with millions, in favor of &#8230;.
