{"id":4469,"date":"2024-01-16T02:55:00","date_gmt":"2024-01-16T02:55:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stevegrossblog.com\/?p=4469"},"modified":"2026-10-02T01:32:44","modified_gmt":"2026-10-02T01:32:44","slug":"the-fog","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stevegrossblog.com\/?p=4469","title":{"rendered":"THE FOG"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Imagine a thick fog 20 feet deep over a square acre of ground.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you condensed all the water in that fog into a liquid, how many one-gallon jugs would you need to contain it all?<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not more than one, and only a third of it!\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The reason you want to develop your own understanding of important doctrinal beliefs &#8211; and revise those beliefs as you mature in faith &#8211; is not so you can get a perfect score on God&#8217;s doctrine test.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">None of us can ever get a perfect score on such a test. One or two warped ideas concerning doctrines of the Christian faith may not be all that harmful in themselves.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Certainly not to our salvation.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The problem comes when that warped doctrine is atomized, obscuring your clear view of every other truth claim otherwise available to you in Scripture.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The fog of false doctrine can leave even the most solid truth ghostlike to your eyes &#8211; dim, unrecognizable, or completely hidden.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And that&#8217;s going to slow down your progress in the faith.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Imagine a thick fog 20 feet deep over a square acre of ground.\u00a0 If you condensed all the water in that fog into a liquid, how many one-gallon jugs would you need to contain it all?
