{"id":5417,"date":"2022-06-22T01:18:00","date_gmt":"2022-06-22T01:18:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stevegrossblog.com\/?p=5417"},"modified":"2026-10-02T01:34:10","modified_gmt":"2026-10-02T01:34:10","slug":"reminders-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stevegrossblog.com\/?p=5417","title":{"rendered":"REMINDERS"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When Peter, James, and John tell Paul to &#8220;remember the poor&#8221;, there is part of my brain that says, &#8220;Well, it can&#8217;t be all that important if they think Paul might forget about it.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But if we are honest, we admit we are prone &#8211; always &#8211; to forgetting THE most important things.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Is it a function of our fallen human nature? A result of the limits of the human brain? A shrinking attention span.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Who knows.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Whatever the cause, it is easy to allow even the most important concerns to fall by the wayside.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Take marriage as an example. Is there anything more fundamental to the whole enterprise than loving your spouse?<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I have been married for almost 22 years at this point, but it&#8217;s a fact that each time I hear Paul tell the Ephesian men, &#8220;Husbands, love your wives&#8221;, there&#8217;s something in my brain that goes, &#8220;Oh, yeah. I need to refocus.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Love God. Love your neighbor. Resist the devil. Honor your parents. Be holy.
