{"id":6010,"date":"2023-03-24T03:05:00","date_gmt":"2023-03-24T03:05:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stevegrossblog.com\/?p=6010"},"modified":"2026-10-02T01:33:11","modified_gmt":"2026-10-02T01:33:11","slug":"ordinary-days","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stevegrossblog.com\/?p=6010","title":{"rendered":"ORDINARY DAYS"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Today was an ordinary day around the Gross household except for three things:<\/p>\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n\n<li>Melissa had to get an MRI on her left elbow so the doctors can determine the cause of recent intense pain and devise a treatment plan.<\/li>\n\n\n<li>Our washing machine gave out and we discovered how expensive appliances are these days.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n<li>Our youngest got her driver&#8217;s permit.<\/li>\n\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meanwhile, a friend of ours had the most <b><i>un<\/i><\/b>ordinary day imaginable.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She and her husband held close their 20-something son as he passed from this world, losing a prolonged and painful battle with a rare cancer.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I cannot even process what that must be like.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And, yes, before Sarah went to bed at the close of this ordinary day, I did hug her a little longer than usual.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today was an ordinary day around the Gross household except for three things: Meanwhile, a friend of ours had the most unordinary day imaginable.
