Part 3, Yellowstone"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After our fantastic week in Seattle area, we rented a &#8220;hideous&#8221; (Melissa&#8217;s word) orange van and started driving East.\u00a0 What gorgeous scenery.\u00a0 Honestly, the driving time seemed to fly by because it was almost like driving through a national park &#8211; at 70+ miles per hour &#8211; the whole way.When we first drove through the arch and into Yellowstone Park, The Princess (age 5) asked, &#8220;Where&#8217;s the playground?&#8221;\u00a0 When her siblings explained that this was not going to be that kind of &#8220;park&#8221;, she moaned, &#8220;There&#8217;s nothing to do here!&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/stevegrossblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/100_1842-1.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Mammoth Springs in Yellowstone.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/stevegrossblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/100_1849-1.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">The Princess and I.\u00a0 For a five year old, she travelled pretty well.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/stevegrossblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/100_1861-1.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">The kids in front of a petrified tree.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/stevegrossblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/100_1868-1.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Melissa in front of one of the many waterfalls we stopped to enjoy\u00a0 throughout the day.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/stevegrossblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/100_1879-1.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">The kids and I hiked down to the river while mommy went to another giftshop.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/stevegrossblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/100_1907-1.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">The kids were so excited to get to play in snow in June &#8211; in their shorts.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/stevegrossblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/100_1911-1.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">June snow is even better than a playground!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/stevegrossblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/100_1922-1.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">The Princess made a little snowman!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/stevegrossblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/100_1931-1.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">A couple of the kids invested some of their souvenir money in binoculars &#8211; they got a lot of use out of them throughout the rest of the trip.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/stevegrossblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/100_1942-1.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/stevegrossblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/100_1951-1.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">They did not care for the sulfur smell of the hot springs throughout the park!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A fantastic day.\u00a0 We were only disappointed in not having time to get all the way to Old Faithful &#8211;
