{"id":9517,"date":"2024-12-19T04:15:00","date_gmt":"2024-12-19T04:15:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stevegrossblog.com\/?p=9517"},"modified":"2026-10-02T01:31:55","modified_gmt":"2026-10-02T01:31:55","slug":"the-church-is-a","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stevegrossblog.com\/?p=9517","title":{"rendered":"THE CHURCH IS A &#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you were to Google &#8220;The Church is a &#8230;&#8221;, what would you expect the top autofill suggestions to be?<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some would come straight from Scripture:\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;The Church is a body.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;The Church is a bride.&#8221;\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Others, though not specifically Scriptural images, are part of the public imagination and seem true enough:<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;The Church is a family.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;The Church is a hospital for sinners.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But here&#8217;s an obvious one that I have never heard &#8230; and I wonder why:<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;The Church is a school.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Why isn&#8217;t the Church known as a place where people <i><b>learn<\/b><\/i>?\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">About God? About life? About purpose?
