{"id":9784,"date":"2021-07-17T03:26:00","date_gmt":"2021-07-17T03:26:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stevegrossblog.com\/?p=9784"},"modified":"2026-10-02T01:34:40","modified_gmt":"2026-10-02T01:34:40","slug":"for-resale","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stevegrossblog.com\/?p=9784","title":{"rendered":"FOR RESALE"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As part of our anniversary celebration, Melissa and I spent a good number of hours over the last two days wandering through antique shops.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In most of these establishments, true antiques are in the minority. 97% of the merchandise should be called &#8220;old junk that somebody hopes to turn into cash&#8221;.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I enjoy walking through these shops, but that 97% &#8230; if you brought any of it into my home as a gift, I would wait until you left and throw it in the garbage.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But SOMEBODY likes this stuff. Desires this stuff. Would pay money for this stuff.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These things are in resale shops, proving they have been bought and sold at least once before.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And that is FASCINATING.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here is a small sampling of &#8220;things that would not inspire me personally to part with any amount of money, but maybe YOU like it?&#8221;:<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><b><u>Lily White Jesus.
